Cathie Whitesides

Cathie began playing dance music with Laurie Andres in 1980. After years of cross-continental music making, they both settled in Seattle, where they continue playing for dances and concerts throughout the United States and Canada.

Now known as Rhythm Rollers, their music is characterized by irrepressible drive, tight phrasing, entwined improvisations and gravity-defying rhythm. Based solidly in New England, Irish, and Cape Breton traditions, their music also embraces contemporary composers and Eastern European traditions. They have performed at the Festival of American Fiddle tunes, Pinewoods Camps, Augusta Heritage Festival, and countless dance events coast to coast.
