Charlie Fenton

Charlie Fenton is an avid dancer and contra caller from San Francisco. He founded the San Francisco Contra series in 1982 and has been its organizer and house caller ever since. The programmer of the BACDS Spring Weekend for more than 10 years and a familiar fixture at the New England Folk Festival for many years, he has called all around the country, from Anchorage to San Diego to Vermont. He has also established himself as a choreographer, having seen a number of his compositions published both in the U.S. and England, including Ted Sannella's book Swing the Next.
