| Notice: As
of Sept. 30, 2005, I am no longer
maintaining this web site. Please
go to the BACDS
web site and use
their Dancefinder to
get dance schedules.
When
I started it 7 years ago,
this site provided information
that was not available from the
BACDS site,
like BACDS dance camp pages, timely
schedules, directions to dances,
links to dance information, and links
to information about bands and callers.
BACDS now has a comprehensive,
well maintained, and reliable web
site that provides all this
information, plus weekly email notifications
of BACDS dances to people who sign
up for the BACDS-ANNOUNCE
email list.
This
site will remain on the web for some
time to come, but the BACDS schedules,
dance pages, and maps will
no longer be kept up to date.

Most contradances and English
Country dances in the San Francisco Bay Area are sponsored by the
Bay Area Country Dance Society (BACDS),
a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that teaches and supports
traditional American dance (New England and Southern contradance
and square dance), English
country dance, and English
ritual dance (Morris, Longsword,
Molly, etc.). BACDS sponsors dances in the San Francisco Bay Area,
including dances in San Francisco, Berkeley, El Cerrito, Palo Alto,
and Mountain View.
Beginners
are welcome and are encouraged to come
a half hour early to most dances for
an introductory lesson. |
