Public Transit directions 

  Directions to the dance from the South

1 Take I 280 towards San Francisco to the 19th Ave./Highway 1 North exit.
2 Continue on 19th Ave. to Brotherhood Way and take exit to right.
3 Circle around onto Brotherhood Way and continue west to the end, then make a right turn onto Lake Merced Blvd.
4 Continue on Lake Merced Blvd. until it curves to left and back to right and ends with a merge right onto Sunset Blvd.
5 Continue on Sunset Blvd., crossing the alphabetically ordered streets to a right turn on Kirkham (K Street).
6 Immediate left on 36th Ave.
7 Immediate left on Judah St. (heading west).
8 Continue west on Judah St. towards ocean to 43rd Ave. St. Paul's is on the right on the corner of 43rd. The entrance is on 43rd.

 Directions to the SF Dance from the East Bay

Note: Directions changed in April, 2003, because the Fell St. offramp from Hwy. 101 was closed.
1 Take the Bay Bridge into San Francisco and continue on I-80.
2 Take the Civic Center Exit to the traffic signal and continue slightly left onto Harrison Street.

Start looking for the "To Fell Street" signs.
3 Stay to the right on Harrison and turn right onto 9th Street.
4 Continue on 9th St. As as you cross Market St., turn left onto Hayes St.
5 Go 4 blocks on Hayes St. to a left turn on Gough St.
6 Go one block on Gough St. to a right turn on Fell St.
7 Continue straight on Fell St. past Masonic. Start moving to the left two lanes.

Continue in the left lanes on Fell St. After you pass Stanyan, the next light is Kezar, just before the entrance to Golden Gate Park. Stay in the left lane and go left onto Kezar.

9 Follow Kezar as it curves around to the right onto Lincoln Way.
10 Continue straight on Lincoln Way to a left turn on 43rd. Ave.
11 Continue straight on 43rd. Ave. almost two blocks to Judah St. St. Paul's is on the right at the corner. The entrance is on 43rd.

Directions to the SF Dance from Marin and Points North

1 Take US 101 south across the Golden Gate Bridge.
2 After the toll gate, get in the right lane and take the 19th Ave/Hwy. 1/Golden Gate Park exit.
3 Continue south on Park Presidio Blvd. and cross Fulton St, where you enter Golden Gate park.
4 Continue on Park Presidio as it curves sharply right and then left through Golden Gate Park and becomes 19th Ave. As 19th exits the park, just past the park gates, turn right at the traffic signal onto Lincoln Way heading west.
5 Continue straight on Lincoln Way to a left turn on 43rd. Ave.
6 Continue straight on 43rd. Ave. two blocks to Judah St. St. Paul's is on the right, and the entrance is on 43rd.

Directions From the SF Dance
to the Bay Bridge (or 101 South)

1 Take 43rd Ave. north (towards the park) to a right on Lincoln Ave.
2 Continue on Lincoln Ave. and at 5th Ave. get in the left lane and bear to left onto Kezar.
3 Continue in the left lane of Kezar and when it becomes a left turn lane, bear left at the Y.
4 Get in the right lane of Kezar and bear right at the next traffic signal at John F. Kennedy Dr.
5 Continue in the right lane for one block on John F. Kennedy Dr. and merge into Oak St.
6 Continue some distance on Oak St. until it goes downhill and crosses under the Central Freeway overpass. Get in the right lane. In a couple of blocks all lanes have to turn left on Franklin St.. 
7 Go left on Franklin and continue in the right lane to an immediate right on Fell St.
8 Get in the left lane of Fell St. and continue straight, then around to the right across Market St. onto 10th St.

Continue on 10th St. for several blocks, passing Harrison St. You'll see "To Bay Bridge and 80" signs and "To 101 South" signs.

  • If you're going to the Bay Bridge, get in the left lane and turn left onto the next street, Bryant St.
  • If you're going to 101 South, go straight.
10 If you're going to the Bay Bridge, continue in the left lane of Bryant St. two blocks to 8th St. You'll see the I 80 overpass just ahead. Continue straight across 8th St., then left onto the I 80 on ramp. You're now going east on I 80 towards the Bay Bridge.

Transit directions TO the dance

1 Take BART to the Embarcadero, Powell St., or Montgomery St. station. Time your trip so you arrive at the station at least an hour before the dance.
2 Follow the signs upstairs to the MUNI level, which is underground, but above the BART level.
3 On the MUNI level, take the N Judah streecar to 43rd and Judah. It's about a 45-minute trip, and the streetcars run every 15 minutes.
4 Get off at 43rd. Ave.. St. Paul's is on the corner, across 43rd on the right, and the entrance is on 43rd.

The last streetcar that connects to BART leaves at 11:18 pm. Catch it on Judah St. across the street from the church.
